Billy Bruce Williams

Bill B. Williams went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 29, 2016. Family and friends celebrated his 90th birthday in October. He was born in Union County on October 20, 1926 to the late Grady Valentine and Sarah Strawn Williams. He was preceded in death by two sons, Billy, Jr. and Tim Williams. Bill was saved at age 16 in a tent meeting in Monroe, NC, where he was born. He served his Lord as an elder for many years at Fairbluff Bible Chapel in Charlotte and Pittsboro Bible Chapel in Pittsboro, NC. He was a homebuilder in Rochester, NY and Charlotte for many years. He served his country in both the Navy and Army. The family will visit with friends and relatives from 11:00 - 11:45 AM prior to the funeral service on Monday, January 2, 2017 at 12:00 noon in Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. Burial will follow in Monroe City Cemetery. Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mae Dean Williams; one son, Sam Williams and wife Bonnie of Ft. Mill, SC; daughter-in-law, Gina (Tim); eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and five brothers and sisters in the Monroe area.
