Blake Palmer Hudson

Mr. Blake Palmer Hudson, 90, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on April 14, 2023. He was born in Shelby, North Carolina on March 31, 1933, son of the late Palmer and Bright Hudson. He is also preceded in death by his first wife, Patsy Allen Hudson, his sister, Ann Cuthrell and his brother, Ben Hudson.

Blake graduated from Shelby High School, attended the University of North Carolina, served in the army as a Military Police, and then graduated from North Carolina State University where he majored in metallurgical engineering. He was an executive at Teledyne Allvac for many years.

Blake loved the Lord! He attended Shiloh Baptist Church for 58 years, serving as a deacon, singing in the choir and teaching Sunday school. He was an avid reader, golfer and fisherman but most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Blake is survived by his second wife, Nancy Hudson, three children, Terry Milton (Stewart), David Hudson (Gina) and Linda Kelly (Kris), his stepdaughters, Pam Baker, Kim Medlin (Terry), a brother, Gerald Hudson (Marjorie), five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, one great-grandson, four step-great-grandchildren.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, April 17, 2023 at Shiloh Baptist Church. The family will receive friends and relatives following in the Family Life Center. There will be a private graveside service at Lakeland Memorial Park.
