Bobbie Janet Poplin

Bobbie Janet Hunter Poplin, 77, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2019. She was born August 18, 1941 in Union County daughter to the late James Perry & Ruth Louise Ritch Hunter. She was also preceded in death by her husband Ted Poplin. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Monday, April 8, 2019 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3816 Morgan Mill Road, Monroe, NC 28110, burial will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park. She was a loving Godly woman who loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a hardworking, dedicated wife, mother, grandmother. She and her husband started their family business (Poplin & Sons Machine Company), that their family still operates today. Mrs. Poplin is survived by three sons; Donny Poplin, wife Sharon, Ronny Poplin, wife Freda, and Gary Poplin, wife Carla, a daughter Kathy Poplin Presson, husband Doug, two brothers, Kenny and Eugene Hunter, two sisters Nancy Crouch and Becky Newell, Nine grandchildren, Heather Thompson, husband Evan, their children (Landon and Lila), Lindsay Herring, husband Mitchel, their children (Payton and Olivia), Tiffany Nelson, husband Shelton, their children (Bryson, Emilee, Wyatt, and Easton), Randall Poplin, wife Rachel, their children (Garrett, Cole, Brynn, Bailey Grace), Melissa Alexander, husband Daniel, their children (Kaelynn, Allie, and Ava), Doug Presson Jr., wife Tiffany, their children (Eden, Lauren and Sawyer), Leslie Poplin and her children (Luca and Sage), Dylan Poplin and Brandon Poplin. The family will receive friends at 6:00pm until 8:00pm Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112.
