Bobby Dean Massey, Sr., 65, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014. He was born August 11, 1948 in Mecklenburg County, son of the late Jessie and Eva Tarlton Massey. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary “Ann” Strickland and a granddaughter, Alice Nicole “Nikki” Massey. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM in Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28110. The family will visit with friends and relatives from 10:00 - 10:45 AM prior to the funeral. Interment in Forest Lawn West Cemetery will be held at 1:30 pm. Mr. Massey is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Vickie Brown Massey; a son, Bobby “Dino” Massey, Jr. and wife Casey of Polkton; brothers, Jessie Massey Jr. and wife Sue of China and Paul Massey and wife Karen of Georgia; a sister, Violet Rutledge and husband Bobby of Charlotte; brothers-in-law, Troy Brown and wife Judy of Monroe, and Marshall Brown and wife Susie of Virginia; grandchildren, Savannah and Dakota Massey of Polkton.
