Bobby Felix Pope

Bobby Felix Pope, 83, of Weddington, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018. Born May 5, 1935, in Wilkes County to Albert Pope and Edna (Land) Pope, Bobby grew up in Statesville, attending Central School and U.S. Army after graduation. Upon completion of his military service, Bobby started his career working for HVAC contractors in Statesville and Charlotte before starting his own company, Total Comfort, in Monroe, which became Monroe Metal Manufacturing and has operated for 50 years. The company developed and manufactured the HVAC systems for many iconic buildings, including the Dean E. Smith Center in Chapel Hill, the Wachovia and Bank of America buildings in uptown Charlotte, including CMC, Novant Matthews and many more. Bobby is survived by his wife, Janice (Marlow) Pope, two children, Darin Pope and his wife Valorie; Dana Yeganian and her husband Charles; and two stepchildren, Eric Thomas and his wife Stephanie; and Tonya Abernathy and her husband John. Bobby is also survived by five grandchildren; Charis Gegelman and her husband Jon; Isabella and Lidia Yeganian, Anna and Ben Abernathy. He is also survived by two brothers; Ronald Pope and Billy Pope, and three sisters, Sue Goodin; Wanda Bolick, and her husband, Danny; and Rebecca Sawyer. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother, Eula Sprinkle Pope, and his sister, Sharon White. A visitation will be held at Gordon Funeral Service 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC, 28112 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Thursday, October 11, 2018. Funeral Service will be held at Weddington United Methodist Church, 13901 Providence Rd, Weddington, NC 28104 at 2:30pm, on Friday, October 12, 2018, with burial to follow at Lakeland Memorial Park, 1901 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.
