Brenda Rogers Burnette, 65, of Monroe, passed away Friday, January 13, 2017. She was born December 23, 1951, in Monroe, NC, to the late Simon Luther and Sadie Stephenson Rogers. Mrs. Burnette was a nurse with Hospice of Union County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary S. Burnette and daughter, Sondra Burnette. She is survived by her daughter, Christy Burnette of Monroe, three brothers, Leonard Rogers of Waxhaw, Grayson Rogers of Lancaster, and Billy Rogers of Monroe, two granddaughters, Amber Burnette of Monroe and Shelby Willis of Waxhaw, and one great-granddaughter, Shaelie Som of Waxhaw. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, in the Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112.
