Brenda Pinson Walden

Brenda Pinson Walden, 73, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2014 after a courageous battle with bone cancer. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 16, 2014 from 1:00 until 1:45 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Gordon Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Brenda was born in Wadesboro, NC on February 28, 1941 to the late Clyde Britt and Mary Melton Pinson. She graduated from Wadesboro High School and attended Appalachian State University as well as school for the study of Medical Technology in Asheville, NC. She worked as a Medical Technologist for Union Memorial Hospital, Monroe Medical Center and Dove Internal Medicine during her 35+ year career. Her caring and loving nature was not only reflected in her work life, but also exhibited in the way she treated those she loved most - her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Dana (Walden) Slawter and husband, Sutton, of Winston- Salem, NC; her son, Brian Walden of Charlotte, NC; and her brother, Rick Pinson and wife, Cheryl, of Ravenna, OH. She was also a much loved “Nanny” to her three grandchildren: Preston Slawter, Jesse Kimbell and Savannah Walden. She also leaves behind many special extended family members and beloved friends.
