Brice Wesley Craig

March 4, 1961 — April 8, 2025

On April 8, 2025, Brice Wesley Craig “Sonny”, 64, of Monroe, North Carolina took his heavenly flight to be with his Lord and Savior after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Craig was born on March 4, 1961, son of the late James Brice Craig and Lessie Virginia Starnes Craig. He is a retiree of Food Lion and ATI Monroe Plant after many years of dedicated service. He was known as a simple man that never met a stranger and for his passion for hunting and fishing, spending countless hours on the water or in the woods. He was also known for his love in the kitchen, especially his famous Black Forest Cake and his Bar-B-Que. Brice was a loving and devoted son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend to all and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Gordon Funeral Service with interment to follow at Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 14, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112.

His survivors include his children, Bryson Lane Craig (Brittney) of Chesterfield, South Carolina, Denise Craig Zinkan (Micah) of Holden Beach, North Carolina, and Tristyn Renae Wiggins of Monroe, North Carolina; siblings Toby Craig, Joyce Keziah (James), and Janet Sistare (Billy) all of Monroe, North Carolina; grandchildren, Tanner Burleyson, Gabriel King, Ryker Burleyson, Kaleb Zinkan, Skylie Craig, and Kelsea Helms; he also leaves behind four nieces, Bridgette Stout (Brian), Jenny King (Justin Newell), Aimee Chaney, Lillie Johnston (Jake); one nephew, Eric Chaney (Brooke); and his loving fur baby, Isis “Doobie”.

Mr. Craig went all twelve years of school without missing a single day. At ATI he prepared lunch on Thursdays for his coworkers.

“I believe that you should leave people better than when you met them, because life is hard enough.”
