Buford 'Bill" Carl Rowell

Buford “Bill” Carl Rowell, 91, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024. He was born in Union County on May 18, 1933, son to the late Carl Rowell and Metlo Williams Rowell. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Donald Harrison “Blossome” Rowell; sisters Sylvia Rowell Nance (J.T.), and Elgeva Rowell Gaddy (Ronald); brother-in-law Rev. Jesse Rushing and granddaughter, Rebecca Wright.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Harvest Grove Church, 8708 Indian Trail Fairview Rd. Indian Trail, NC 28079, with burial to follow at Ritch Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112.

He was a devout Christian, loving Husband, Daddy, Father-In-Law, PawPaw, Brother, Brother-In-Law, Uncle, Great Uncle, and Friend.

He was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army. He married the love of his life, Margaret and had 63 wonderful years together. God blessed them with two children Eddie and Ronda. He was a very hard working man that provided well for his family. He loved gardening and his tractors. He enjoyed many hobbies, hunting, fishing, racing, camping, riding horses, Bluegrass music, hanging out at there lake house, beach trips with family and friends. Overall he enjoyed life.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Margaret McLain Rowell; son, Edward “Eddie” Rowell (Emily); daughter, Ronda Rowell Baucom (Michael); sister, Hazel Rowell Rushing; three grandsons, Jessy Baucom, Hunter Baucom (Breanna), and Morgan Baucom; and one great-granddaughter, Kaisley Baucom, and many nieces and nephews.
