Burrell “Buster” Eugene Funderburk, 73, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. He was born on July 19, 1943 in Monroe, NC to the late Burrell Leon and Olive Ross Funderburk. He is also preceded in death by his brother Roger Funderburk. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, May 26, 2017 at Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 AM until 11:45 AM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112. Buster is survived by his loving wife Nancy Broom Funderburk, two sons; Monty and Jody Funderburk of Monroe, NC, two daughters; Lisa Rhyne of Indian Land, SC, Lori Wade of New Salem, NC, three sisters; Terry Helms of Monroe, NC, Judy McLester of Oakboro, NC, and Ann Helms of Oak Island, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
