Bynum Broadway

Bynum Bob Broadway, 83, of Monroe, NC passed away on January 30, 2012. He was born on May 7, 1928 to Ray Broadaway and Ressie Parker Broadaway. His stepmother was Ruth Huneycutt Broadaway. Mr. Broadway was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Bob loved gardening and his five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Bob was married to Margaret Louise Loop, 1947, in Yokohama, Japan. She preceded him in death in 2002. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 2:00 PM in Emmanuel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Survivors include his companion, Barbara Edwards and his six children, Alison Broadway of Atlanta, GA, Brian Broadway and wife Rebecca, Bill Broadway and wife Sylvia, Cliff Broadway and Karen Barlet, Beth Broadway all of Monroe, NC and Nelson Broadway of Columbus, OH. His siblings, Alice Baucom of Polkton, Polly Efird of Locust, Nell Kendall of Norwood, Ruby Pope of Wadesboro, Steven Lamar Broadaway of Stanfield and Nancy Huneycutt of Locust. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112 and following the service at his residence.
