Calvin “Hilton” Hinson, 89, of Monroe, NC passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Union County, NC on October 25, 1936, son to the late Grover Hinson and Velma Williams Hinson. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 69 years Peggy Tomberlin Hinson, as well as three brothers, Dwight Hinson, Duell Hinson, and Harold Hinson.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Shiloh Advent Christian Church, 3601 Sikes Mill Road, Monroe, NC 28110 with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 noon until 1:45PM in the church fellowship hall.

He is survived by his three daughters, Pam Chaney, Kim Baucom (Tony), and Nina Hinson (Ritchie Neal), son, Todd Hinson, brother, Don Wayne Hinson, three sisters, Colon Williams, Cathryn Medlin, and Ruth Hyatt, four grandchildren, Ben Hinson, Danielle Lowder (Jacob), Erica Modzelewski (Derric), and Trevor Chaney, and one precious great granddaughter, Charlotte Lowder.
