Carol Jean (Filkins) King

Carol Jean Filkins King, 65 passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018. She was born June 10, 1952 in Waukegan, IL daughter to Cynthia Johns Filkins and the late Elmer Wayne Filkins. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, March 18, 2018 in Gordon Funeral Chapel 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe NC, 28112. Carol was loved dearly by all who knew her, especially her husband and family. She shared an exceptionally deep bond with her two daughters. She enjoyed and had a special talent for decorating, gardening, and beautifying her surroundings. Carol was also a passionate lover of animals. She took in many strays, and always went out of her way to feed and help any animal she saw in need. She particularly loved her little dog, Skeeter and cat Sissy. She is survived by her husband Louis King, two daughters Julie Miller, husband Alan, and Tara Payne, husband Brian, two brothers, Mark Filkins, and John Filkins, two sisters, Linda Filkins, and Tammy Filkins, and one grandchild Nathan McCleland and several nieces and nephews.
