Carol Dyson Pomfrey, 84, of Monroe, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016. She was born May 25, 1932, in Manila, Philippines to the late William Vern and Frances Stillen Dyson. Mrs. Pomfrey was a member of Turner Presbyterian Church in Monroe and was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse. She enjoyed the Game Show Network and enjoyed adventures and traveling to Atlantic City and Las Vegas. She is survived by her husband, Thomas E. Tom Pomfrey, Jr.; children, Barbara Antonucci and husband, Patrick, Tom Pomfrey and wife, Vanessa, and Carol Rennie and husband, Steve, all of Monroe; grandchildren, Robyn, Michael, Meredith, Colleen, Robert, and Bryan; and great-grandson, Matthew. The family will visit with friends and relatives from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Sunday evening, October 23, 2016, at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 24, 2016, at Turner Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
