Carolyn Ann Hinson

Carolyn Strawn Hinson, 88, passed away on June 12, 2024. She was born on March 24, 1936, in Union County to the late John Ed and Annie Mae Hill Strawn.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Norman Keith Hinson, brothers, Jack, Ed, Charles (CB), Raeford Strawn, sister Betty Price, and her very special friend Keith Nance.

She was a hairdresser for over 50 years in Union County, owning her own shop (The Hair Gallery).

Carolyn is survived by her children: Rockie (Donna) Hinson and Ronda (Tim) Keziah, three grandchildren: Charles Purser, Philip Purser, and Landon Keziah, three great-grandchildren, and sister Sarah (Jo) Mullis all of Monroe.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Woodridge and Hospice of Mecklenburg County for their care for Ms. Hinson for the past several years.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Lee Park Church Chapel, 2491 Morgan Mill Road, Monroe, NC 28110, with burial to follow at Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive guests prior to the service from 1:00 pm until 1:45 pm in the church foyer.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Lee Park Church, 2491 Morgan Mill Road, Monroe, NC 28110.
