Carolyn Kaye Moore

May 2, 1941 — January 8, 2023

" We can't choose the music that life gives us, but we can choose how to dance to it"

--- Unknown

Carolyn Kaye Moore went on to dance among angels on Sunday, January 8, 2023 She was born May 2, 1941 in Union County, North Carolina, as one of three beautiful daughters to the late Clayton and Edith Underwood. She joined her late sisters Barbara and Vera.

Kaye immediately lit up any room she entered. She had a powerful presence. She was witty, quirky, creative, charming, and brutally honest. She had great fashion sense, beautiful hair, and the knack for the perfect accessory.

She loved ballroom dancing, fine home décor, well-done steaks, The Price is Right, shoes, singing traditional hymns, waffles, the sounds of waves and birds chirping, Fred Astaire, The Bold and the Beautiful. white linen shirts, black jackets, walks in Autumn, and gatherings with laughter.

She wasn’t fond of football, the color red, bad service, escargot, or a dance partner with no rhythm.

Kaye’s surviving family includes three grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. To them, she leaves her confidence of expression, her love to sing, and the excitement for a good magic trick. To her daughters, Karen and Keyna, she leaves her refusal to ever give up, the example to give to others, and her secret pecan pie recipe. To her friends and neighbors, she leaves unfathomable gratitude for their care and companionship.

A memorial ceremony will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.
