Dateline: Monroe NC Carrie Lee McKinney Nash, 89, died Friday, September 5, 2008. She was born in Union County September 5, 1919 daughter of the late Harvey and Ada Irby McKinney. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 7, 2008 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Gordon Funeral Cremation Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe. She was preceded in death by her husband William “Red” Nash, two brothers Parley, and Robert McKinney, three sisters Arlie Starnes, Ida Morris, and Estelene Fitzgerald . Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, September 8, 2008 at New Hope United Methodist Church 3221 Plyler Mill Rd, Monroe NC 28112, conducted by Rev. Ron Setzer with burial to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Mrs. Nash is survived by one son, David Nash and wife Sharon of Macungie PA, two daughters Phyllis N. Shifflette and husband Ed, of Colfax NC, and Rachel Hill of Monroe NC, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Hope United Methodist Church, or charity of choice. Gordon Funeral Cremation Service is assisting the Nash Family.
