C. Douglas Richardson, 72, of Monroe, NC, passed away on July 19, 2016 in Hospice of Union County in Monroe, NC surrounded by family. Doug was born in Monroe, NC to the late C.B. and Evy Richardson on March 13, 1944. Doug was an active member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church serving in many different roles and positions. Doug will best be remembered as the owner/operator of Monroe Alternator and Starter Co. in Monroe, NC for over 45 years. Through this, he formed many lasting friendships. Doug cared deeply for his family and the people in his community which was demonstrated by his generosity and kindness. Doug is survived by his wife, Terry Mullis Richardson who was by his side when he passed. Doug and Terry celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary this past January. Doug is also survived by 3 sisters; Colleen York, Barbara Baucom, and Judy Thomas; one son, Brian Richardson; two daughters, Catherine Quick Harlan and Melissa Quick; and 7 grandchildren, Brad Richardson, Morgan Harlan, Shelby McVicker, Sydney McVicker, Zak Harlan, Landon Richardson, and Carson Richardson. Doug was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Richardson. Visitation will be at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112, on Friday July 22, 2016 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday July 23, 2016 at 2:00pm at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 5300 Nesbit Rd, Waxhaw, NC 28173. Rev. Renee Easter and Doug’s daughter, Rev.
