Celia (Okula) Jaronczyk

Cecilia Okula Jaonczyk, 98 of Monroe, NC passed away on Friday July 28, 2017. Born on July 5, 1919 in new Britian CT, Daughter of the late Jan Okula and Leokadia Zelichowski Okula. Raised in Tykocin Poland and returning to the USA in December of 1939. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Stanley Jaronczyk, two sisters, Anna Grabowski, Helen Kielbasa, and one brother Tadeus Okula. She helped in the war efforts while working for Remington Arms in Bridgeport, Ct. She retired from Westinghouse in Bridgeport, Ct with 10 years of service. Cecilia was a member of Our lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Monroe, NC. Visitation and Rosary will be held on Thursday, August 10, from 5-7pm in the Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, August 11 at 11am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 725 Deese St., Monroe, NC 28112. Entombment will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park. Cecilia is survived by a daughter Theresa Yatsinko (Joseph) of Monroe, NC; a son, Edward Jaronczyk (Irene) of Ansonia, CT; Three brothers, Joseph Okula, Anthony Okula (Helen), and Edward Okula (Genia), two sisters Veronica Korzinski, and Mary Korzinski, all of Connecticut. Six Grand-daughters, Donna Joe Lichtenwalner, Newton, NC; Krissy Scott Rud, Roswell, Ga; Jennifer Mark Peters, Canton, GA; Angela Pantelone; Marta Greg Kudej; Barbara Bazar of Connecticut; and fourteen great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the nursing staff of Lake Park Nursing Rehab especially Loretta, Candy, Wendy, and Cynthia for the loving care given to Cecilia while her stay. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of the Charlotte Region or Our Lady of Lourdes Maintenance fund. Gordon Funeral Services and Crematory is caring for the Jaronczyk family.
