Charles Brown

Charles Lloyd Brown, 72, passed away Tuesday August 17, 2021. He is the son of the late Grady Brown and Frances Williams Brown. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Carrie Beth Barnett and a brother, Russell Brown. Charles was an Air Force veteran and proudly served his country twenty-five years in the military. He also played flute and piccolo all over the country in the military band. He retired after thirty-five years from the postal service. Charles loved to sing and served as minister of music for his former church, Briar Creek Road Baptist Church. A memorial service for Charles will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Benton Heights Presbyterian Church, 2701 Concord Hwy. Monroe, NC 28110. The family will receive friends and family 1:00PM until 1:45PM prior to the service. Inurnment will follow at Benton Heights Presbyterian Church Columbarium. The family asks those in attendance to please wear face covering. Charles is survived by his loving wife, Mary Szymonski-Brown; one son Charles Jeffery Brown of Monroe; one daughter Katie Brown of Charlotte; and one sister Mary B.
