Charles Bater Lomax

Charles B. Lomax, 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Pruitt-Union Pointe. Charles was born in Union County, NC August 16, 1929 son of the late Kate B. & B.C. (Lum) Lomax. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Evelyn Helms Lomax. He was an active Deacon in his church at Benton’s Crossroads Baptist Church, and held many church offices over the years. After he retired, he became active in the North Carolina Baptist Men’s Disaster Relief Operation and assisting in the building of the Union Baptist Association new office building. He is survived by his sons Charles, Jr. (Chuck) wife Pamela, and Philip and wife Karen, grandchildren: Addie Phifer (Dustin), Tristan Lomax, Amanda Lomax, Emily Gilmore (Matthew), great grandchildren: Blake Phifer and Jamie Gilmore. A private graveside will be held with family members only at Lakeland Memorial Park.
