Charles Lloyd Puckett, 96, of Waxhaw, NC went to heaven on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. He was born in Jefferson County, KY on March 7, 1930, son to the late John B. Puckett and Susie Hinton Puckett. He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Baldwin Puckett, brother, John B. Puckett, Jr, and sister, Anna Lou Denim.
Charlie as he was lovingly known by many family and friends served in the Air Force as an aircraft mechanic and after military service worked for Lockheed in Smyrna, Georgia on the flight line. Later in his career he was a training specialist and traveled to different countries teaching aircraft maintenance. He started painting at the age of eleven and knew he found his lifelong passion. His artwork consists of landscapes, still life and portraits in oil. He also taught private classes in his art studio. His daughter Teresa was encouraged and inspired to become an artist. His other favorite pastimes include sharing stories and jokes and the shared pursuit of knowledge.
Charles is survived by two daughters, Judy Lynn Allan (Michael) of Wilmington, NC, Teresa LaRose Puckett of Waxhaw, NC, three grandchildren, Jessica Mosley (Brandon), Allen Boartfield (Nikki) and David Boartfield (Taylor), three great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Cason and Asher Boartfield and a niece, Mary Inez Vaughn Soviero (Larry).
A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, in the Chapel of Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28110, with burial to follow at Waxhaw City Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM at Gordon Funeral Service.
