Charles Thomas Greene

Charles Thomas Greene, 82, passed away Feb. 18, 2016 peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Union County, NC, Charles was the son of the late Thomas A. and Dixie Thompson Greene. He moved to Hampton, VA, in 1963, where he owned and operated GG Tile Co. He later moved to Smithfield, VA, in 1981 and attended Uzzell United Methodist Church. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Charles is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jane Cox Greene; his daughter, Shelley Jones (Steve) of Zuni, VA; son, Mark Greene of Smithfield; two granddaughters, Nicole Kempton of Windsor, and Lindsay Bowles (Stewart) of Lanexa; and great-grandson, Noah Searcy; sister, Linda Deese of Lancaster, SC; brother, Curtis Greene of Monroe, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. The family will receive friends and relatives at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112, on Monday, February 22, 2016 from 1:30 - 2:30 pm, followed by a graveside service in Lakeland Memorial Park, 1901 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112.
