Charlie Lee Taylor Jr, (C.L.) 68, of Indian Trial was born on October 21, 1949. He passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at his residence, surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Lizzy Kiker Taylor, a son Jeffery Scott Taylor, a brother Wayne Taylor and a sister Emma Taylor. Funeral services for Charlie will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Gordon Funeral Service at 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112, Burial will take place in Forest Lawn East Cemetery, 3700 Forest Lawn Dr, Matthews, NC 28104. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Friday, March 29, 2018, at Gordon Funeral Service. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years. Barbara Rowell Taylor, a daughter Amy Callahan of Monroe, NC, a very special grand-daughter Elizabeth Callahan, who he thanked God every day for, one brother, James Leroy Taylor (Inez) of Florida, one sister, Evelyn Medlin, of Aquadale, NC and several nieces and nephews, a special close sister-n-law Judy Taylor of Peachland, NC. Best Friend for years and like a brother to him David Soileau of Hamlet, NC. He retired from the Dept. of Correction with 28 years of service and one of his favorite things to do was to eat at Rocky River Fish Camp.
