Christine Fowler Scott

Christine Fowler Scott passed away peacefully on March 15, 2024, at Jesse Helms Nursing Center in Monroe, NC.

Christine was born in Union County on August 3, 1923, to the late Andrew Claren and Rossie Adaline Helms Fowler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years John “Jack” Scott, brothers Harold, Paschal, and Jack Fowler, and sister Kathryn Fowler Mullis.

Christine is survived by her daughter Deborah Luck (Sid) of Seagrove, NC, grandsons Jason Luck (Emzee) of Bennettsville, SC and Matthew Luck (Jennifer) of Seagrove, NC, great-grandchildren Madison Luck of Colfax, NC, Austin and Jackson Luck of Seagrove, NC, a great-granddaughter who will make her appearance in SC in July of 2024, brother Hoyte Fowler (Peggy), sisters Mellie Fowler Simpson, and Monie Fowler McGee (Jesse) as well as many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.

Christine was a homemaker, beautician, and loving caregiver to her parents, husband, and sister prior to their deaths. She was an accomplished seamstress, knitter, and crocheter, and dabbled in nearly every craft. She knitted many toboggans through the years for new babies in the family. Christine loved being outdoors tending to her flowers.

Christine was a lifelong member of Grace United Methodist Church in Monroe, a church that her Fowler family helped found and where many of her ancestors are buried.

The family is grateful for the loving care that Christine received from the staff at the Jesse Helms Nursing Center.

A memorial service in celebration of Christine’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, 2024, in the chapel of Gordon Funeral Service, with burial to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from

2:00 PM until 2:45 PM. at Gordon Funeral Service and Crematory, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.
