Clara Smith (Howie) Mcdonald

Dateline: Monroe, NC Clara Howie Smith McDonald, 96, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013. She was born in Union County, NC on November 3, 1916 daughter of the late Baxter Fulton and Leona Helms Howie. Mrs. McDonald was a retired city of Monroe employee. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 3:00 PM in Mineral Springs United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 1:30 until 2:45 PM. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Patterson Smith and her second husband, Mark Leon McDonald. She is survived by sons, Thomas P. Smith of Monroe, Michael H. Smith of Mineral Springs, brother, Bill F. Howie of Mineral Springs, sister, Eleanor Howie Little of Wingate, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
