Clara Mills Underwood, 82, passed away December 6, 2014. Clara was born in Chesterfield, SC, on February 21, 1932 to the late James and Nettie Mae Rayfield Mills. Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 10, 2014 in the Gordon Funeral Chapel with a visitation prior to the service from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC, 28112. Burial will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park. Clara is survived by her loving husband Smith L. Underwood Sr., sons, Smith L. Underwood, Jr. (Susan), Gerald Underwood (Bet) and Tom Underwood (Linda), brother, Jim Mills, sister Lucy Whiteneck, 9 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
