Cleo (Boyd) Couick

Mary Cleo Boyd Couick, 92, passed away Friday, June 13, 2014 with her family by her side. Ms. Couick was born April 3, 1922 in Mecklenburg County, NC daughter to the late Joseph and Ellie Condor Boyd. She was also preceded in death by her husband Wilburn Couick that passed away in 2002, daughters Emily C. Potts, and Ann Y. Couick, sisters Arpie Lou, Margaret, Kathryn, brothers Jerry, J.T., James, and Robert. Ms. Couick was retired from Perfect Fit Industries, in Monroe, NC after many years of service, and was a long time member of Mineral Springs United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Mineral Springs United Methodist Church 5915 Waxhaw-Monroe Rd., Waxhaw, NC 28173. The family will visit prior to the service starting at 11:00 AM until 12:45 PM. The family will be gathering at other times at the home of Darrell Couick. Burial will follow service in Waxhaw Baptist Church Cemetery. (Roundtop) Ms. Couick is survived by her children Donna Couick Medlin (Ken) of Matthews, NC, Judy C. Lisk of Wesley Chapel, NC, Billy G. Couick (Martha) of Matthews, NC, Darrell Couick (Sonja) and Morrison Couick (Mary) both of Monroe, a sister Dot Hicklin (Richard); brothers Bill Boyd, and Wayne Boyd; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 11 great great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Mineral Springs UMC, P.O. Box 67, Mineral Springs, NC 28108, or charity of donor’s choice. Gordon Funeral Service Crematory is caring for the Couick family.
