Clonnie Lynn Nance

Clonnie “Lynn” Nance, 81, passed away Monday, May 29, 2017. Mr. Nance was born March 18, 1936 in Peachland NC, son to the late Clonnie and Geneva Stegall Nance. Funeral services for Mr. Nance will be held Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 3:00pm at New Hope United Methodist Church, 3221 Plyler Mill Road, Monroe, NC, conducted by Reverend Craig Sefa with burial immediately following at Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and relatives prior to the service from 1:30pm - 2:45pm at the church. Mr. Nance left employment in corporate roles to pursue his dream of farming. For over forty years, he has been a turkey farmer. Mr. Nance was also a veteran of the US Army. The family would like to thank Dr. Jonathan Gerber and the caretakers at Levine Cancer Institute for the years of care for his diagnosis of myelodysplastic syndrome. He is survived by his loving wife, Geraldine Starnes Nance, and three daughters, Pam Lipsky, Paula Sanders and Patti Griffin, son-in-laws, Hal Lipsky and Chas Griffin, and seven grandchildren, Stephen Lipsky, Alex Lipsky, Colby Sanders, Nic Sanders, Chasity Griffin, Jacob Thomas and Lexy Griffin. He is also survived by his brother, Harold Nance, and sister, Pat Felmet. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to be made at Carolinas HealthCare Foundation c/o Carolinas Hematology Research Fund/Dr. Jonathan Gerber, Attn: Scott Kerr, 1221 Morehead Street, Charlotte NC 28204 or New Hope United Methodist Church.
