Clyde Bennett Polk, 59, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2009. Born March 14, 1950 in Union County, NC son to the late Sylvester L. and Ida Jane Caskey Polk. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 17, 2009 at 2:00 PM in New Hope Baptist Church, with burial to follow in church cemetery. Mr. Polk is survived by his loving wife Peggy Drake Polk, son Kelly Polk and wife Melissa of Monroe, a daughter Holly P. Griffin and husband Jeremy of Monroe, a brother Harry Polk of Monroe, two sisters Peggy Chaney, and Rachel Pylant both of Monroe, four grandchildren Ethan Griffin, Ava Claire Griffin, Kristen Polk, and Emily Polk all of Monroe. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 16, 2009 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Gordon Funeral Cremation Service 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe NC, 28112.
