Clyde Nichols Rice

Dateline: Monroe, NC Clyde Nichols Rice, 76, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012. He was born in Mecklenburg County on April 17, 1935 son of the late Earl Bland and Ethel Heron Rice. Mr. Rice was the owner of Clyde’s Small Engine Repair and a US Army veteran. Mr. Rice is survived by his wife, Patty Robinson Rice, son, Tony Cook and wife Cindy, daughter, Pam McSheehan, all of Monroe, brothers, Wayne Rice of Midland, Don Rice of Charlotte, and Johnny Rice of Colorado Springs, Colorado, sisters, Helen Lindley of Harrisburg, Mildred Fisher of Concord, Lila Hudgens of Harrisburg and Doris Currie of Charlotte, 5 grandchildren, Emily Cook, Sara Chase McSheehan, Melissa Jenkins and Brandi Burnette and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Bland and Bill Rice and sister, Mary Rice. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112 from 12:30 until 1:45 PM. A Masonic graveside funeral service will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park at 2:00 PM.
