Colene (Richardson) York

Colene Richardson York, 78, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2017. She was born July 19, 1939 in Union County, daughter of the late Charles Brinkmon Richardson and Evy Lee Richardson. She is also preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby “Bob” Richardson and Doug Richardson. Mrs. York served her community by owning and operating Piedmont Flowers and Gifts, which she started over 45 years ago. She was creative and practiced her craft of floral design until the day she passed. She believed in hard work and persistence which, showed in her life. Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm on Friday, October 6, 2017 at Lakeview Baptist Church, 4602 Concord Hwy, Monroe, NC 28110, burial will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00pm until 2:45pm. Mrs. York is survived by her loving husband, Donald York, son Scott York, wife Angie of Monroe, daughter, Pam Brooks, husband Robert of Monroe, two sisters, Barbara Baucom, husband Dennis of Monroe, Judy Thomas, husband Sam of Waxhaw, sister-in-law, Terry Richardson, two grandchildren, Freddie and Ian York.
