Coy Moses Furr, 86, of Monroe, NC passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. He was born in Union County, NC on August 13, 2026, son to the late Webb Furr and Zillie Clontz Furr. He is also preceded by his wife Carol Hammond Furr as well as two brothers, Boyd Furr and Buren Furr.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, September 6, 2026, in the chapel of Gordon Funeral Service with burial to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 5:00PM until 7:00PM on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Gordon Funeral Service and Crematory, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.

Coy is survived by his two daughters, Carolyn Taylor (Jamie), and Marilyn Hodge (Jim), two brothers, Frank Furr (Delorce), and Boyce Furr (Peggy), two sisters, Doris Teague (Ralph), and Delorce Tomberlin, sister-in-law, Cindy Furr, six grandchildren, Monica Carpenter, Chris Crot (Suzie), Ricky Hannah, Lauren Taylor (Cameron), Dalton Taylor (Brittany), and Sarah Beth, five great-grandchildren, Braxton Crot, Sadie Crot, Addison Taylor, Poppy Tapp, and Tommy Tapp.
