Crystal Lillian Broome

Miss Crystal Lillian Broome, 49, of Monroe, NC passed away Thursday, October 1, 2020. She was born in Union County on February 26, 1971. She is preceded in death by her father Mr. Roy Arnold Broome, as well as her grandparents, Solon and Kathleen Walden, grandfathers, Donald Broome and Howard Ware Broome, uncle Joe Walden and two aunts, Deborah Walden and Margaret Hardwick. A memorial service to celebrate Crystal’s life will be held at 3:00pm, Saturday, October 10, 2020. at Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112. Crystal was a beloved teacher for 24 years and spent 23 years with Union County Public School System. She loved teaching and all her students. She enjoyed reading and movies in her free time and loved to travel. Crystal is survived by her mother and best friend Lillian Walden Broome, grandmothers, Ruth Broome and Ajean Broome, uncles, Art Walden (Billie), and Wayne Broome (Lessie), aunts, Peggy Walden, Lisa Castle, (Jerry), Dawn Starnes (Stacy), Wanda Sue Stephens, Peggy Lassiter (Donnie), and Debbie Outen, numerous cousins and her special friends that were more like sisters, Fawn Stevens, Leslie Smith, Mindy Goodrow, Angela Moffitt and Martha Grise-Haney.
