Curtis Neil Aycoth, 88, of Monroe, NC passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022. He was born in Union County on January 10, 1934 son to the late Conley Aycoth and Hazel Hayes Aycoth. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife Carolyn Lou Green Aycoth, infant son, Johnny Curtis Aycoth, brothers, Robert Aycoth and Fred Aycoth; sisters, Irene Harmon and Margaret Moss.
He is survived by his three daughters, Elaine Price (Allen), Gail Austin (Jimmy), Kathy Nielsen (Marty), twelve grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild with two great-great grandchildren on the way, sisters, Martha Jean Helton (Harold) and Kay Jordan (David).
Neil served in the Navy from 1951-1954 on the USS Iowa during the Korean War. After his military service he married and started his family. He established his welding business and worked hard his entire life for his family and his community. His favorite hobbies were his love of wrestling, hunting, fishing and his Ham radio, being able to communicate all around the world making many new lifetime friends along his journey.
A funeral service will be held 2:00PM on Friday, November 4, 2022 at Bethany Presbyterian Church, 6713 Plyler Mill Road, Monroe, NC 28112, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00PM until 1:45PM in the church.
