Cynthia "Cindy" Carnes Deese

Cynthia (Cindy) Carnes Deese, age 64, passed away on September 17, 2024. She was born on June 12, 1960, to the late Johnnie Ward Carnes Sr. and Sarah Elizabeth Francis Carnes. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Johnnie “Butch” Carnes, Jr, and her granddaughter Lilyann Deese.

Cindy had an amazing heart and loved to help others. She spent over a decade with Union County Public Schools volunteering, substitute teaching, and following her passion of teaching special needs children full time. Even during her 22-year battle with MS, she never gave up on her favorite things; traveling the country and spending time with her family.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Wolf Pond Baptist Church, 78 State Rd S-13-35, Pageland, SC 29728, with Reverend Mark Evan to officiate.  The family will receive friends following the service.

Cindy is survived by her loving husband, Bill Deese; two daughters, Tammy Hines (Mike) Kelly Laton (Charles); two sons, Chris Deese (Heather) and Matthew Deese; her brother, Michael Carnes; her three grandchildren, Josh Deese (Jasmine), Olivia Laton, Jonathan Laton; and her three great-grandchildren, Easton Deese, Colbie Deese, and Devin Deese.
