Daniel Scott Shortt Daniel, 16, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2010. He was born April 7, 1993 in Henrico County, VA. Daniel was a member of the Junior class at Piedmont High School, a member of the Fairview Volunteer Fire Department, and was a member of the Explorer Unit for the Union County Sheriffs Department. A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in Lakeview Baptist Church, 4602 Concord Highway, Monroe, NC 28110. A visitation will be held Monday April 5, 2010 from 6 until 8 p.m. in Lakeview Baptist Church. He is survived by his parents, Michael and Kathryn Murphy Shortt; his brothers, Andrew Shortt and wife Cassandra, and Matthew Shortt; his grandparents, C. Wade and Katherine Shortt of Halifax, VA, and Robert M. and Mary Kay Murphy of Richmond, VA. Memorials May be made to Fairview Volunteer Fire Department, 7402 Concord Highway, Monroe, NC 28110.
