Danny Richard Elms, 61, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2026. He was born in Monroe, NC on January 23, 1965, Son of the late Leon Elms Jr. and Elaine McKinney Elms.
Danny is survived by his wife, Kathie and two sisters Cheryl Elms, Shirley (Chalie) Brown, niece Lauren and nephew Daniel. Brother-in-law Ken Nolan and niece Zoie, nephew Todd Nolan (Sally), great niece Mercedes (Kaleb) and KJ, and great niece Lexi. His Aunt Carol and several cousins.
Danny was Saved in May of 2010. His love and faith in the Lord remained in him through his last years of life. It gave him comfort in knowing that he would one day be reunited with those who had gone before him.
He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, 3rd Bn 5th Marine 1st Marine Division from 1983-1989. He shared a powerful brotherhood through those years and continued to cherish that brotherhood bond, stronger than Blood. Semper Fidelis/Always Faithful!
After 37 years, he retired from ATI Allvac, in Dec 2024. He was respected for his dedication, reliability, and strong work ethics. He gained many lifelong friends and remained loyal to them, making great memories to cherish over the years.
Danny settled outside of town in a beautiful country home where he and Kathie, his wife of 24 years, enjoyed Beekeeping, gardening and raising their cats, Gunney and Daisy, and Labradors, Luke, Hank, Ellie Mae and Ruger. He enjoyed Nascar racing, hunting, fishing and being outdoors enjoying God’s creations. He was strong-willed, loyal, selfless, full of life and dedicated, a genuine one-of-a-kind, true friend.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
