David Linn Dispense, also known as “Navy Dave”, 85, of Monroe, NC passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024. He was born in Dunkirk, NY, on September 12, 1938, son to the late Joseph Dispense and Elsie Timmerman Dispense. He is also preceded in death by his two brothers, Richard Dispense; James Dispense; and sister Joanne Proper.

A celebration of life gathering will be held starting at 5:00 PM, on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at the Veterans Club of Monroe, 712 VFW Rd, Monroe, NC 28110. Honors will be performed by the Veterans Club at approximately 6:00PM.

David is survived by his daughter, Lisa Hennessy (Tim), stepchildren, Dallas Hayes (Joanne); Pam Prince; Stephan Hayes (Barbara); grandchildren, David Hennessy; and Megan Hennessy.

During his spare time, David loved fishing, gardening and bird watching.
