David Edgar Griffin, 68, went to Heaven Thursday, January 29, 2015. He was born in Union County, NC on August 23, 1946 son of the late K.W. and Edna Eury Griffin. Mr. Griffin was retired owner of Monroe Home Furnishings and manager of Plaza Appliance of Charlotte. He was an avid Tar Heel fan, being a history buff he enjoyed trips to Washington, DC. He also loved cruising with family, beach trips and other activities. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 2:00 PM in Sardis Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife, Bobbie “Barbara Lee” Griffin, son, Zachary David Griffin and wife Kristen of Monroe, brother, Terry Griffin and wife Jane of Monroe, sister-in-laws, Judy and Dennis Manus, Carol and Dale Wilson and Linda and Dean Phifer, 2 grandchildren, Quinley and Gavin Griffin.
