David Ellison “Red” Glenn, Jr., 94, of Monroe, passed away Wednesday, March 01, 2017. Red was born February 5, 1923 the eldest son of the late David Ellison Glenn, Sr. and Lea Mae Helms Glenn. He was preceded in death by siblings, Donald, Henry, Pete Glenn, Laura Manshask, Rita Price, Joann Estridge, Deloris Baker and an infant sister.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, March 4, 2017 in the Gordon Funeral Chapel with Pastor Danny Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 7:30PM Friday, March 3, 2017 at Gordon Funeral Service.
Red served in the United States Army during World War II, where he was awarded the Purple Heart.
Survivors include one brother, Jerry Glenn and his wife Corrine of Waxhaw, two sisters, Mary Thomas of Monroe, Phyllis Hill and her husband Jerry of Monroe and several nieces and nephews.
