David Code Griffin, 86, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017. He was born August 16, 1930 in Union County, NC, son to the late Needham Mary Griffin. He is also preceded in death by two brothers; Frank and Brack Griffin, and sister Betty Fix. David worked for Ed Griffin Construction Company for 30 years. He loved the outdoors, and in his later years he enjoyed watching airplanes, and become an avid bird watcher. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Gordon Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. Andy Wells. Burial will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM. Mr. Griffin is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Helen McCain Griffin, three daughters; Donna Tolbert of Lancaster, SC, Terry Starnes (Mickey) of Peachland, NC, and Missy Griffin of Wingate, NC three grandchildren; Cindy Russell, Tamala Ryte, and Jason Tolbert, six great grandchildren; Hannah, Logan, Bradley, Austin, Lindsey, and Cooper.
