David Lee Jr. Hargett

David Lee Hargett, Jr., 79, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018 at his residence. He was born June 23, 1939 in Union County, NC son of the late David Lee Hargett, Sr. Helen Muriel Williams Hargett. He is also preceded in death by a daughter Donna Blackburn and a son Isaiah Hargett. A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM, Saturday, August 11, 2018 in Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends following the service. A Mason since 1965, David held offices in various branches of Masonry, served on diverse boards and committees, and received numerous awards for his achievements and contributions. David was known for his excellent impromptu ritual work and his strong enthusiasm for history and education. David is survived by his loving wife Robin Hargett, two sons Joey Hargett (Jackie) and Jeff Hargett (Audrey); seven grandchildren Jacob Hargett, (Brooke), Pierson Hargett, Dakota Blackburn, Walker Prince, Weston Hargett, Seth Zuniga, and Serenity Zuniga; and one great grandchild Kailer Hargett.
