David Lynn Helms, age 50, of New Salem, NC passed away on Friday July, 27, 2018 due to an accidental drowning. David was born in Monroe, NC and graduated from Piedmont High School in 1985. He was strong in his faith and was a devoted member of Zion United Methodist Church in Unionville, NC. He was a hard worker, loved his family and was always ready with quick witted humor. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Zion United Methodist Church, 1521 Old Fish Road, Monroe, NC 28110. Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah Methodist Church in New Salem, NC. David is survived by his father and mother; Calvin and Dianne Helms, siblings; Brent Helms and Teresa Miller (Bryan), nieces and nephews; Carly Helms, Adam Helms, Grant Miller and Aubrey Miller, and grandmother; Vera Little.
