David Andrew “Slow” Norris, 59, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014. He was born in Lee County, NC on February 10, 1955 son of the late Lendo and Mary Jeanett Poe Norris. Graveside funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Friday, May 23, 2014 in the Lucy Helms Cemetery. Mr. Norris is survived by his wife, Gail Helms Norris, sons, David A. Norris, Jr. and wife Julie of Charlotte, Adam J. Norris and wife Dakota of Buford, SC, Douglas B. Norris and wife Nicole of Marshville, Jamie B. King and wife Donna and Chris S. King and friend Tammi, all of Monroe, brothers, James L. Norris and wife Crystal of King, NC, Jerry W. Norris and wife of Vickie of Unionville, sister, Terry N. Black and husband Rick of Dallas, and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Beth Norris. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112.
