David Odell Seymour

Dateline: Waxhaw, NC David Odell Seymour 63, passed away May 24, 2013 at his residence. A native of Mecklenburg County, NC he was the son of the late Walter Odell and Genevieve Caskey Seymour. David was a highly decorated Vietnam War Veteran, receiving many service medals including the Purple Heart. He served as the Region 6 Disaster Recovery Coordinator with the NC Baptist Men. Funeral services will be held Tuesday May 28, 2013 at 4:30 PM in Mt. Harmony Baptist Church, 2817 Mt. Harmony Church Rd., Matthews, NC 28105. The family will greet visitors beginning at 2:30 PM until 4:15 PM at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Frances Smith Seymour of the home; sons, Christopher Lee of Odenton, MD, Russell Seymour of Charlotte, NC and Keith Seymour of Spartanburg, SC; brother, Ronnie Seymour of Charlotte, NC; sister, Carol Benfield of Jacksonville, FL. and 5 grandchildren.
