David Lee Sims, 71, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014. He was born in Union County, NC, September 25, 1943, son of the late Richard Edwin and Inez Pierce Sims. David loved life, the beach and his family and friends. Funeral services will be Sunday, December 14, 2014 at 2:00 PM in Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112. The family will visit with friends and relatives from 12:30 - 1:45 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. David is survived by his wife, Linda Gordon Sims; son, David Brian “Beano” Sims and wife Natisha of Knoxville, TN; his brother, Dick Sims and Glenna of Indian Land, SC; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
