Debbie Orane Liles Mew, a faithful woman of God and beloved matriarch, went home to be with her Lord and Savior in Heaven on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the age of 68. She passed peacefully while surrounded by her cherished family, who held and prayed over her with love in her final moments. She was born in Monroe, North Carolina on October 22, 1957.

A candlelight memorial service will be held on June 6th, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. at First Assembly of God church at 2500 Arnold Dr, Monroe, NC 28110.

Debbie is loved and adored by her whole family, whom she doted on and treasured. She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Rachel Liles, her husband, Cecil Mew, and her son, David. Debbie is survived by her loving children, Tammy, Jay, Michael, Wayne, and Shawna. She has one sister, Donna, who stood by her through every chapter of her life. She is a cherished grandmother to four wonderful grandchildren, Tyler, Taylor, Haley, and Chelsea, whom she lived her life for. She leaves behind extended family, friends, and neighbors who will miss her deeply.

Debbie was a very special woman who loved deeply and devoted herself completely to Jesus Christ and her family. She cared for every person she met and would do anything to help a stranger. She was known for her witty sense of humor, steadfast faith, and streak of mischief. She was the cornerstone of her family, a cherished friend to many, and a truly remarkable woman. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and kindness that will live on for generations.
