DeLores Mary Abt, 87, passed away Monday, February 3, 2014. She was born in Iowa City, Iowa on October 3, 1926 daughter of the late Louis Edward and Dorothy Ruppert Moore. Mrs. Abt was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick T. Abt. Mrs. Abt is survived by sons, Frederick Abt of Boise, Idaho, and John Abt of Salida, Colorado, daughters, Tracey Leitner of Monroe, NC, Nanette Hill of Brighton, TN, and Patricia George of Tampa, Florida, sister, Phyllis Kinnard of Everett, Washington and 11 grandchildren. Interment will be held in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, 608 E. Franklin St., Monroe, NC 28112.
