Delores “Dee” Louise Van Milligan, 92, of Fort Mill, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.
Born in Drayton, North Dakota, on October 20, 1932, Dee was the daughter of the late Ludvig “Louis” Larson and Amelia “Mollie” Gjelhaug Larson. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Henry Charles Van Milligan and Douglas Deming.
Dee's life was filled with love, joy, devotion to her family, acts of service, and a passion for Jesus. As the mother of four boys, she was the heart of her family. She found joy in the small, beautiful things in life-flowers, birds, and always with a song on her lips. She always kept a positive outlook, no matter what the circumstances, and her infectious energy and high-spiritedness will be remembered by all who knew her.
A memorial service to celebrate Dee’s life will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Gordon Funeral Service, located at 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. Following the service, the family will receive friends and loved ones.
Dee is survived by her four sons, David Van Milligan (Ila), Steven Van Milligan (Doris), Keith Van Milligan, and Philip Van Milligan (Amy); six grandchildren, Anika, Brayden, Cierra, Luke, Katherine, and Levi.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to JAARS, an organization dear to Dee’s heart, at www.jaars.org/give.
